Purpose of the Job:
  • Provide plant arrangement concepts throughout the business including supporting generation of detailed bill of quantities during basic engineering and detail engineering phase. Identify, develop, evaluate, and introduce engineering solutions / layouts / arrangements for offerings that meet plant arrangement within the guidelines of applicable NGSL Policies & Procedures, Engineering Standards, Specifications, Good Engineering Practice, Government and Commercial Standards.

Mission

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and reviewing Plant layout & equipment layout as per contractual requirements, work instructions, installation guidelines and best practices comprising of equipment, civil, piping & valves, electrical, access and maintenance.
  • Create 3D layout models in PDMS considering Mechanical BOI, Pipe & cable rack, drain, trench & customer basic plant layout.
  • Preparation & review of General Arrangement & Layout drawing for customer submission & approval.
  • Follow-up and checking interface data and performing clash checks etc.
  • Prepare & review Bill of Material for ITO, OTR execution, and support product cost out and product standardization efforts
  • Ensure that lessons learned from previous projects & tenders are known and utilized
  • Ensure that key performance indicators like On Time Delivery, Right First Time, Direct Material Productivity are met
  • Provide technical support during fabrication, inspection & erection stage
  • Support sourcing team in clarifying vendor requirements related to structural drawings.
  • Implement global standards and common processes to assure consistent quality is delivered.
  • Concurrently work on multiple projects and ensure program cost, quality and schedule
    requirements are met
  • Monitors relevant international recognized codes and standards; adapt and implement changes to design rules and practices for the product technical needs
  • Ensure that the design of his Engineering function is according to the applicable rules, regulations codes and standards and according to good engineering practice especially with regard to OSHA
    guidelines.
  • Continuously challenges self and team skills in functional area. Stays current with industry developments in one’s field of expertise
  • Provide technical leadership for team members in the form of training, mentoring, talent development, and work verification
  • In this role you will work with engineering, supply chain and other business functional teams to deliver for Wet FGD and WTE Power Plant.
  • Ensure all interfaces between components are established and agreed upon by Engineering design teams of mating parts and product systems. Check & comment external documents (Vendor, Partners, Sub Contractors) and manage & check the interface data (type, dimensions, location, …)
  • Ensure the follow-up of the engineering progress processes and the corresponding work instructions
  • Responsible to adhere to any contractual requirement with special regards to Codes, Standards, Client Specifications.
Job Requirements
Educational Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering degree (BE/ B Tech) with 10-12 years of Experience.
Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Good engineering understanding of Power plant equipment & drawing reading is essential.
  • Minimum 5+ years engineering experience in Basic & Detailed Engineering
  • Hands on and working knowledge of AutoCAD, PDMS
  • Knowledge in any 3D model & drawing generation will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High degree of skills of problem solving, analyzing and decision making.
  • Self-Driver with positive attitude.
Competencies:
Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience working in multi-functional engineering teams focused on basic design definition and/or detailed engineering activities for power, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or similar type
    project execution efforts.
  • Knowledge & working experience on Air Quality Control Systems like ESP, Flue Gas
    Desulphurization and WTE Power Plant.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of Indian & International (AISC, Euro, DIN, JIS, GB etc.) Standards related to Structural Engineering
  • Proven analytical and organizational ability.
  • Innovative out-of-the-box thinking
  • Availability to travel within and outside country as per business needs
