Improvement Project IRRD System

The IRRD (Intelligent Remote Racking Device) system enhances electrical safety by enabling remote operation of circuit breakers and integrating alarm mechanisms for critical conditions, minimizing human exposure to hazards and ensuring safer, more reliable power system operations.

Improvement Project Description :

• An “Intelligent Remote Racking Device” (IRRD) is a specialized device used in electrical power systems. Additionally, to remotely insert or remove circuit breakers or other heavy electrical equipment from a safe distance. 

• Implementation of both Hooter & MIMIC  for buzzing/ to give alarm  in case of accidental opening power cable compartment door in breaker ON position

Key benefit :-

• Remote Operation: The device allows operators to perform circuit breaker racking operations from a safe distance. Additionally, reducing the risk of electric shock or arc flash hazards.

• Enhanced Safety: By eliminating the need for manual racking. IRRDs help protect personnel from potential injury caused by heavy or dangerous equipment.
