Functional Lead – Construction Manager |
Purpose of the Job:
- Manage and coordinate Construction & Commissioning activities according to project’s contractualrequirements & ensure that activities are performed 100% in line with contractual requirements and quality targets, within scope, time, and budget.
- Promote project opportunities and cost optimization initiatives within his area of scope.
- Leads the Construction & Site Management in line with the operating guidelines of NGSL
- Drives the site execution construction activity to ensure it is professionally &
timely executed at lowest possible cost
- Leads the site execution strategy during the execution phase
- Pro-actively supports tendering & sales in providing the most efficient strategy for site management, civil, erection and commissioning issues (schedule, site organization, site costs,
constructability etc.)

Organisational Reporting

Objective & Responsibilities
- Review scope, budget, schedule, and risk/opportunities of the contract
- Participate and ensure the handover process from Tendering to Construction reviewing scope and budget
- Develop and plan temporary and permanent site infrastructure together with the SM
- Monitor and report on regular basis the overall construction execution, cost forecast and planning.
- Develop and implement mitigation plans whenever possible.
- Participate in the review meetings
- Ensure resources are delegated on time in compliance with delegation strategy
- Represent site team in actions at NGSL Head Office
- Control the procurement of materials on site.
- Ensures efficient subcontracting process for civil & erection (technical discussion with subcontractors, strategy, commercial negotiation)
- Ensures efficient partnership with civil, mechanical, electrical, Instrumentation & erection subcontractor
- Drives constructability review during Tendering and Execution phase
- Brings his technical Construction expertise during tendering and
execution
- Provides experience feedback and improvement cycles
- Owns the Construction and site management function workload across the different projects
- Identifies and delegates the resources needed (employees, skills and contractors)
- Ensures leadership and motivation by establishing an open and broad communication of the principles, objectives, targets and processes include the feedback communication
- Maintains and develops office & site personnel to ensure adequate competencies are available Strict observance and implementation of the Business EHS/Quality Policy and all Company rules
- -Liaises with other Functions to strive for synergies
- -Mentors employees helping them to meet their career potential, develops a high performing team and ensures retention of key talent.

Educational Requirements
|
- Engineering degree from an accredited university or college
- Very strong & proven experience in site Construction & management (having delivered EPC projects)
- Total Minimun 15 Years and Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant leadership experience.
- Strong background on EHS & Quality tools/processes.
