Deputy Manager – Projects
Purpose of the Job:
  • Leads the assigned project team and ensures that each core team member is fully committed and motivated to deliver the project, to the customer’s satisfaction, in line with contractual requirements, whilst ensuring maximum possible commercial benefit to NTPC GE.
  • Responsible for the successful execution of project management activities with a full understanding of the scope and business risks of all aspects of project assigned from the time of taking it over from the sales Project Manager until PBG is collected
  • Relationship building with the customer.
  • Leadership, co-ordination and facilitation of Project Teams to ensure maximum empowerment continued focus and action on the right priorities throughout the Project execution.
  • Financial control together with PFC, – maximising profits, minimising risks
  • Play a support role in further expanding the business beyond its current activities
  • In-time cash realization from customer by regular & effective follow ups.
  • Adaptability for frequent outstation tours as per project requirements.

Mission
Objectives and Responsibility:
  • Develop and build Project functions in line with project plan
Operational
  • Complete scope of the project from the time of taking it over from the sales Project Manager until PBG is collected.
  • Contact with Customer.
  • Leadership, co-ordination and facilitation of Project Team to ensure maximum empowerment continued focus and action on the right priorities throughout the Project execution.
  • Financial control together with Controller (CM).
Accountability
Accountable to the – Head of Project Management, NGSL
Measurement / KPI’s of the role

  • Project Forecast – invoicing – accuracy
  • Project Gross/Net Margin
  • Team Utilization rate %
  • Project Management process compliance
  • On Time Delivery (OTD), Right first time (RFT)
  • No of NCR/CA; Cost of poor Quality (Co PQ) – INR
  • Customers satisfaction

Further Objectives, Targets and Performance Measurements are defined on a yearly basis.

Job Requirements
Educational Requirements :
Mechanical Engineering degree from Tier 1 institute with 10-12years of Experience.
Knowledge and Experience :
  • Experience in Power industry, specially related to Retrofits of ESP
  • Knowledge of ESP Green field including Civil
  • High degree of skills of problem solving, analysing and decision making.
  • Leadership capabilities
Competencies
Technical Skills:
  • Experience and knowledge of Power plants design, O&M, Maintenance concepts etc.
  • Understanding of Processes of Power plants and integration related issues.
  • Ability to work in an international matrix organization
  • Successful track record of Project Management of large and complex contracts preferably in the power generation market
Behavioral Skills
  • Good Communication skills
  • Good Interpersonal skills
