Functional Lead – Supply Chain |
Purpose of the Job:
- Responsible for procurement of commodities & services and the management of supplier relationships
- Lead negotiation activities ensuring the price and commercial terms meeting both customer and business requirements
- Develop and ensure suppliers are in compliance with NGSL quality, EHS and ethics initiatives.
- Responsible for developing project sourcing plans in line with NGSL sales targets and project opportunities, to further identify risks, cost saving opportunities and alignment with promoter’s functional groups where necessary.,
- Review and analyze the local supplier market to ensure best availability and cost efficiency from our vendors.
- Build the team, set up the organization and drive effective operations
- Play a key role in further expanding the business beyond its current activities
- Strong follow up skill with vendors.

Mission

Responsibilities:
Strategic:
- Co-ordinate Supply Chain activities with GE and NTPC.
- Ensure development of relevant processes in NGSL.
- Develop and ensure approval of Supply Chain Development plan and its implementation.
Operational
- Guide the Supply Chain team to ensure that the vendor bids for the assigned projects are formulated and implemented in a timely manner.
- Coach and provide strong leadership for supply group throughout project execution
- Ensure milestone activities during the entire process of Specification, RFQ, Budget/Firm Pricing, Order Placement/Acknowledgement and Delivery are adequately prepared, effectively planned and meet project demands
- Lead negotiations with vendors with the aim to maximize NGSL purchasing leverage and commercial terms but not at the expense of quality and delivery.
- Develop service vendor forecasting and component capacity plan strategy
- Ensure the ongoing competitiveness and compliance to Quality/EHS of vendors .
- Ensure the correct tools and processes for Supply Chain management and procurement are introduced in NGSL
- Ensure process compliance e.g. request for tender, On time delivery, etc and report on Supply Chain performance metrics
- Develop Supply Chain team to sustain NGSL operating plan

Job Requirements
|
Educational Requirements :
Electrical/Mechanical Engineering degree from Tier 1 institute with 15- 18 years of Experience. |
Knowledge and Experience :
- Experience in Power industry, specially related to renovation & modernisation
- High degree of skills of problem solving, analysing and decision making.
- Leadership capabilities.

Competencies
|
Technical Skills:
- Experience and knowledge of Power plants, maintenance concepts etc.
- Understanding of Processes of Power plants and integration related issues.
- Track record with negotiation of large and complex contracts preferably in the power generation market
- Experience in FGD, Waste to Energy business would be an added advantage
