Job Title & Purpose

Purpose of the Job:

• SM / M – Mechanical Packages for the Wet FGD Plant & Other Power Plant Equipment including Material Handling system. He / She must demonstrate technical leadership in developing Mechanical specifications, Technical Data Sheet, Vendor Offer Evaluation, Design documents as well as other for
  NGSL specific technologies products for International and Domestic projects.

Responsibilities:

• Part of a dedicated Engineering Team for Tender and Project Execution
• Study of the contractual design specifications and project requirements
• Prepare / Review mechanical equipment / package specification, design criteria and datasheet with detailed division of responsibility and scope, Detailed Technical Evaluation of Sub Supplier
  Bids, Review Vendor Documents and be responsible for various interfaces of the supplier. If needed, take lead in coordinating interfaces with other disciplines (Process, Structural, Arrangement, Piping…).
• Review and Approval of Vendor Drawings, Documents
• Support and coordination during manufacturing, equipment inspection, Erection, Commissioning and PG Test, as needed
• Responsible for Quality reviews, control & checking and ensure compliance to Standards & Codes mentioned in the contract.
• Ensure that key performance indicators like On Time Delivery, Right First Time, Direct Material Productivity are met
• Support in Technical discussions with Customer & Engineering Consultant, Vendors, as
  applicable.
• Participate on development of documentation of technical base, including standards & codes, and provide guidance for discipline work for the continuous improvement and deployment of working procedures, best practices and projects feedback.
• Develop technical collaboration with other locations, if needed.
• Participate in HAZOP, FMEA meetings with internal teams and customers.
• Interface with suppliers for preliminary costing, mechanical component selection, and submittal document review.
• Understand and assess customer problems and determine appropriate means of solution
• Participate in design review and design freeze meeting and ensure the corrective actions defined by the design review are closed on time.
• Support to standardization/cost out / value engineering efforts.
• Implement global standards and common processes to assure consistent quality is delivered.
• Communicate project status, schedules, upcoming deliverable, and technical solutions between various teams. Method of communications to include, but not limited to, model reviews, design
  review, construct ability & accessibility reviews, team meetings, line of balance…etc.
• Concurrently work on multiple projects and ensure program cost, quality and schedule
  requirements are met
• Ensure On Time Delivery (OTD), Right First Time, First Time Yield, DMP for the projects being handled.
• Mentor young mechanical engineers and guide them to develop.

Job Requirements

• Mechanical Engineering degree (BE/ B Tech) with 14-15 years of Experience.

• Knowledge of International and Indian Standards related to Material Handling System’s equipment of handling Limestone and Coal.
• Knowledge of Compressors Air system, HVAC, Fire Fighting System and other BOP equipment being used in FGD System and Power Plant.
• Passion for technology and automation
• Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills, ability to interface effectively with global counterparts.
• High degree of skills of problem solving, analyzing and decision making.
• Self-Driver with positive attitude.

• Experience and knowledge of Power Plants design, Engineering, O&M, Calibration concepts etc.
• Understanding of process of Power plants and integration related issues.
• Successful track record of engineering power plant projects i.e. Power Plant, Wet FGD, Other BOP equipment, related to retrofit or green field project.

• Good Communication skills (both written & verbal)
• Team player and Initiator
