Purpose of the Job:
- Leads the assigned project team and ensures that each core team member is fully committed and motivated to deliver the project, to the customer’s satisfaction, in line with contractual requirements, whilst ensuring maximum possible commercial benefit to NTPC GE.
- Responsible for the successful execution of project management activities with a full understanding of the scope and business risks of all aspects of project assigned from the time of taking it over from the sales.
- Relationship building with the customer.
- Leadership, co-ordination and facilitation of Project Teams to ensure maximum empowerment continued focus and action on the right priorities throughout the Project execution.
- Financial control together with Project Financial Controller, – maximising profits, minimising risks
- Play a support role in further expanding the business beyond its current activities

Mission

Key Responsibilities
- Support in development of relevant project management tools and processes.
- Develop and build Project functions in line with project plan
- Complete scope of the project from the time of taking it over from the sales Project Manager until FAC is received.
- Contact with Customer.
- Suggests improvements in products, processes and procedures.
- Co-ordinate with various functions/ Stake holder internal/Customer like Quality, Supply Management, Engineering and Construction.
- Preparation of Management Report for Internal and Customer.
- Contributes to plan of larger unit. Works together with high level people from the business.
- Specifies needs, communicates about project approach and presents outcomes of research done.
- Works on the basis of predefined contracts and frameworks. Some latitude to deviate from those conditions.
- Leadership, co-ordination and facilitation of Project Team to ensure maximum empowerment continued focus and action on the right priorities throughout the Project execution.
- Financial control together with Controller.
- Leading a cross functional team to achieve project deliverable’s.
- Supervisory roles that are responsible for direct or indirect leadership and/or management of project resources.
- Participates in discussions about the future of the business requiring frequent and thorough interaction with other functions.
- Develops an operational year plan for the own department activities.

Job Requirements
|
Educational Requirements
Mechanical Engineering degree from Tier 1 institute with 15 + years of Experience. |
Knowledge and Experience
- EHS Certification
- Project Management certification
- Minimum one complete EPC /Green Field or R&M project more than 2500 MINR
- Field experience will be added advantage
- Dealing knowledge with vendors globally
- Experience in Power industry, related to FGD, Waste to Energy plants projects.
- High degree of skills of problem solving, analysing and decision making.
- Leadership capabilities.

- Experience and knowledge of Power plants design, O&M, Maintenance concepts etc.
- Understanding of Processes of Power plants and integration related issues.
- Ability to work in an international matrix organization
- Successful track record of Project Management of large and complex contracts preferably in the power generation market
