Sinnar Thermal Power Limited (STPL) is a 5 × 270 MW thermal power plant located approximately 40 km from Nashik, Maharashtra. The project has been acquired through a 50:50 joint venture between NTPC and Mahagenco.
Representing significant stranded generation capacity, the plant holds strong potential to be restored as a reliable source of power within a compressed timeframe.
NGSL has been awarded the comprehensive overhauling of Unit 1 and Unit 2, with a combined capacity of 540 MW. The scope encompasses Boiler-Turbine-Generator (BTG) systems, Water Treatment Plant (WTP), electrical systems, and instrumentation associated with both units.
Upon successful completion, the units are expected to resume stable operations with performance parameters aligned with prudent utility benchmarks. Beyond restarting power generation, the overhauling programme aims to strengthen equipment reliability, improve plant availability, and establish a sustainable operating framework for the asset’s long-term utilization.
